Katie Roller serves as the Assistant Vice President of Communication leading the company’s internal and external communication strategy and partnering with various departments on stakeholder engagement and community relations. Roller joined Patriot Rail in 2023 as the Director of Public Affairs. In this role, she was responsible for the company’s public affairs strategy including state relations and media relations. Before joining Patriot Rail, Roller held the Director of Safety and Member Engagement position for the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) where she managed the operations and expanding safety training and certification programs, member relations and was also dedicated to the administration and execution of several federal safety-related grants.
Prior to her position in the national association space, Roller held various leadership and advocacy roles at CSX in public affairs, project impact mitigation, public safety, media relations and philanthropy for 13 years. Roller has 19 years of experience in the transportation industry. She has been a volunteer for Operation Lifesaver since 2007, helping drive unique safety training and messaging aimed at motorists and pedestrian safety on or around railroad tracks.
A native of Florida, Roller has a B.A. in Interpersonal Communication from West Virginia University and resides in Jacksonville, Fla with her husband.
